Happy Halloween, everyone!
I know it's a bit early to say "Happy Halloween" but boy am I ready for Halloween and ready for fall in general. Normally, I'm all about summertime, which probably stems from growing up in the frigid upper region of Minnesota where it even snowed once on the 4th of July - no joke, we were having a family reunion, and the flakes suddenly started coming!
But I'm definitely not a huge summer fan this year...instead of our normal 70 to 80 degree Pacific Northwest weather, we found ourselves in the late 80's and 90's much of the time. The sweltering summer has made me super excited for all things fall, everything from hot coffee on a cool day to the beautiful leaves and of course, celebrating Halloween!
My excitement for fall and Halloween has inspired me to create some witchy items to celebrate the season. I've always been a fan of witches. I grew up a 90's girl watching "The Craft." Then as an adult, started really appreciating the idea of the wise old crone. I even love the sillier depiction of witches such as in the TV show "Salem" or on the covers of campy pulp fiction paperbacks from the 60's.
So, in the spirit of Halloween and in celebration of the witch, I found myself transforming some everyday pin up girls into retro witches. I hope you enjoy these pill box and cigarette case designs as much as I enjoyed creating them!
